Simplicity In Existing

“He (Allah) is such that He sent down tranquility into the hearts of the believers, so that they grow more in faith in addition to their (existing) faith- And to Allah belong the forces of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise-“[Mufti Taqi Usmani][48:4]

SubhanAllah, God is always doing the most for us and we’re never grateful. He explains to us that He sent down to us tranquility and calmness into the hearts of the believers to help their faith grow even more. Because when you’re worry free and you’ve got a heart that is calm you tend to do better/more for what you believe in; for your faith!

He is all knowing and all wise; so He knows how humans work and how to go about us, subhanAllah.

“Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter – We increase for him in his harvest. And whoever desires the harvest of this world – We give him thereof, but there is not for him in the Hereafter any share.”[Sahih International][42:20]

Doing more for our hereafter is so important, God is giving us his word that he will give us what we worked for. And if we worked for our hereafter he will give us more than what we bargained for; because he is Al-Kareem, the generous! And if we only did things for our Dunya than we will also get what we worked for, but that’s it; no share of it will be taken to the hereafter.

This verse is such a great motivation for us to do more for our hereafter instead of doing it for this Dunya when it’s ending. We leave with nothing from it but our good deeds done for the next life; the hereafter.

“When man is visited by a trouble, he prays to Us, but when, after that, We favor him with some blessing from Us, he says, “This is given to me because of (my) knowledge.” No, but this is a trial, yet most of them do not know.”[Mufti Taqi Usmni][39:49]

Isn’t this always the case? Man is always priding himself with his capability of creating his own future when in reality it’s all Gods doing. Without God you wouldn’t be where you currently are; no matter how much you try. And when does man remember God the most? When he finds himself in trouble; but when all is well God is the last thing on his mind.

This verse also tells us something important. Blessings can also be a trial in disguise; you may not know it on spot but eventually you will. Being healthy can be a trial, you’re healthy so maybe you should use this health to help those who lack it. Being rich can be a trial, you’re rich so maybe you can help those less fortunate. And so on.

In the end remember that it’s all in Gods hands.

“Had Allah opted to have a son of His own, He would have definitely chosen anyone, as He wished, out of what He had created. (But), Pure is He. He is Allah, the Only One, the All-Dominant.”[Mufti Taqi Usmni][39:4]

If god wanted to be associated with someone; a son for example he could have easily done that. It’s not something impossible and he could have chosen from all that he has created, but he didn’t. God is all dominant, there is no God but him….no one is associated with him and his greatness. This is one of the main pillars of Iman! And when you decide to become Muslim you say this phrase, called Al-Shahada [the testimony]:-

‎”لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا ٱلله مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ ٱلله

lā ʾilāha ʾillā llāh muḥammadun rasūlu llāh

There is no god but God. Muhammad is the messenger of God.”

“O mankind, remember Allah’s blessing upon you. Is there any creator other than Allah who gives you provision from the sky and the earth? There is no god but He. So, to where are you being turned around (by your desires)?”[Mufti Taqi Usmni][35:3]

Another verse asking us to remember everything we are blessed with. And it’s great to have these reminders spread all over the Quran because we constantly need to be reminded; we as humans tend to forget to be thankful for what we have and tend to ask for more when we have more than enough. Our desires constantly call us and make us become greedy, always asking for more instead of being thankful for the countless blessings we already have.

So if you haven’t thanked God for what you have today or if it’s been a while since you remembered your blessings, take the time to do that now! AlhamdurAllah for everything we have; from material things to this beautiful earth and the way it functions to keep us alive!

“Every person has to taste death, then to Us you are to be returned.”[Mufti Taqi Usmni][29:57]

A reminder to us all, everyone WILL eventually die and return to their lord. There is no escaping it, it’s a part of our life, the next step. So let’s learn to think of it as such so it doesn’t seem scary and impossible to think of. InshAllah.

“Your Lord knows what their hearts conceal and what they reveal.{69} And He is Allah. There is no god but He. Praise is only for Him in the beginning and at the end, and He alone has the right to judge, and to Him you are to be returned.{70} ” [Mufti Taqi Usmni][28:69-70]

We’ve seen verses like this before, because it’s important for us to remember that everything isn’t what it seems; at least not always. God himself only knows what’s truly hidden in our heart, and knows exactly what we lay out there for everyone to see and what we don’t; what we hide. And another point that is made in these verses is that Allah is the only one that can judge us, in the end whatever we do we will be held accountable for. So even if people don’t like what you do or like it, in the end you must evaluate your actions based on what you deem is right or wrong and based on what you think God will appreciate or not. And so in the end what YOU do and YOU chose is up to you because no one will take the blame or the reward for it but YOU, and God will be the judge of that.

” And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate” [Sahih International][25:67]

In this verse God is reminding us that moderation is key!! Don’t be too excessive or too stingy with yourself when spending! Be moderate!

“And those who accuse chaste women and then do not produce four witnesses – lash them with eighty lashes and do not accept from them testimony ever after. And those are the defiantly disobedient,{4} Except for those who repent thereafter and reform, for indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. {5}” [Sahih International][24:4-5]

Accusing a woman for something that hits her honor in any way shape or form is a HUGE sin. It’s never okay. And these accusation range from accusing her of speaking to a non-Muhram to beyond that. Accusing a woman of something so serious like that has a harsh punishment, as you can see in the verse. So be aware when you speak ill of a womans honor and remember God will NOT let it slide.

In today’s “gossip” it’s become something so easy to accuse a girl for doing something like that and that needs to stop immediately, for this is what the Aya is referring to. You’re hitting her honor, and that’s a huge deal that God will not forget and you will be accounted for it. In this life or the next. So repent and end this type of “gossip”.
